So why do we complain??

I came across this at the dentist yesterday. In that particular day I was feeling a little annoyed and unappreciated because I have been busting my ass off at work and credit was going to people who merely show up at work, get in late and leave early, and barley lift a finger to get the job done. At that moment in time, I was thinking to myself I can do just like them and get it over with and this frustration in me will reside. Then I saw this sign hanging as I was going to the prayers’ room in the dentist. And I remembered why I am doing it all.

ان الله يحب اذا عمل أحدكم عملا أن يتقنه

In Kuwait, we complain a lot and yet we practice the same things we complain about.

‘Wasda’, the first thing that comes to our minds when we want to do something, get a job, license, appointment, paper work. I mean things can be obtained without it, it will take longer of course but at least you are fighting that concept. Also when it comes to voting, seriously people on what basis you vote. Don’t tell me you look into the candidate’s credentials! Most of us vote ‘علشان فلان و علان’ and what s/he can do for us so why are you surprised with our ‘مجلس الأمة’. How many chances do give a person some of the members have been there forever. Driving. I admit it sometimes I do crazy driving but to some extent. I hate wrong parking because it annoys the hell outta me when I see others doing it, so I would park far and walk even in the heat. Parking in disabled people parking spots and you see the whole family jolting out of the car, what kind of lesson are you teaching your kids. Cutting in line. Rudeness. People not working and not committing. ‘النظافة’ How many times at the traffic light you littered? Simply open the door and throw you garbage. Not respecting rules. A simple example, smoking (I loath smoking). You have a clear sign “No Smoking” and a pictorial sign for those who can’t read and yet you see them light the cigarettes and puff away even in hospitals. The stupidity of our kids and we do not sit them down and make them study. Their spending habits and we don’t stop giving them money or buying them the latest gadgets. How they act and think, nevertheless, we don’t teach, educate or set a good example for them. So why do we complain??

These are some of the things that I could write down before reaching my depression stage. Just think of the things that annoy you and yet you do the exact same thing you’re supposedly against.
