IE vs Firefox
Posted by Bloggylife in funny, personal, technology on April 27, 2008

I’ve been facing some issues lately with my IE browser and when searching for a solution all the roads seem to lead to other browsers mainly Firefox. Especially with Google sites like my email or sites that require certification not identified by Microsoft. I would install it and successfully I may add but as soon as I open the site again it gives me the same error. As for gmail, that my browser’s cache is full although I just cleared everything, increased the size, restarted the PC, nothing seems to solve the issue, so I switched to Mozilla Firefox which is quiet intriguing so far and no problems and operating smoothly. But I notice that for some applications that have web management it alerts that it is not supported by this browser and I may face some difficulties till now no reported problems from my side. When asked about a specific supposedly un-trusted site’s certification, I confirm the installation and voila, worked. So I went back to my IE which has been giving me trouble for months now and installed the un-trusted certificate again and guess what, yes it worked!! I guess it needed the competition, IE is now aware that Firefox is residing within the same machine and maybe it is trying to prove itself. I just need to get used to Firefox’s interface and navigation.
Here a funny JOKE from my Google portal subscription, it fits the “politic drama action” we have right now:
A busload of politicians were driving down a country road, when suddenly the bus ran off the road and crashed into an old farmer”s barn.
The old farmer got off his tractor and went to investigate. Soon he dug a hole and buried the politicians. A few days later, the local sheriff came out, saw the crashed bus and asked the old farmer where all the politicians had gone.
The old farmer told him he had buried them.
The sheriff asked the old farmer, “Lordy, were they ALL dead?”
The old farmer said, “Well, some of them said they weren’t, but you know how them crooked politicians lie.”
Update: Actually I noticed I have trouble with sites that I know are published using IIS, I don’t know if this related
