I was so looking forward for this seminar session

I came all the way and attended the beginning and was eager for the end

I had to go back to work because I had a meeting then

Even, I told myself, if I attend a few minutes it is worth it, I’ll try and stay for 25 minutes and then rush back to work

The one I was waiting for started….

Hello, my name is … and I work for… Let me talk a little about my company … “zith” company bought “zat”…

All the way in a thick Egyptian accent … I couldn’t take it, I took my things and left … I’ll read about the damn thing rather then sit down and listen

I know that may have been unprofessional of me, but I couldn’t take it. The guy may have been excellent technically but as a presenter what the hell were they thinking. It was so irritating and annoying.

I believe when you want to market something, you need someone neutral. You’ll be facing an audience of different nationalities so have someone speaking in clear English with no accent, plain English. Even sometimes if you bring someone with a thick British accent people will have a hard time understanding

Also, when someone is there trying to work the audience, OK .. who can tell me what is the most important thing in an organization … who the fuck cares, I was about to scream, wrap it up quickly, I had things to do. It’s not like we are on vacation, each left their work and came here with specific things in mind to see if you meet them. If I want a Q&A thing, I’ll go back to college!!!

I know I sound a bit bitchy, but I really was looking forward to it and I didn’t get what I went for. But on the bright side, I did listen to pretty interesting stuff that broaden my IT horizon
