I’m quick to apologize and make excuses: “Sorry about my messy desk, insha’Allah I’ll get around and clean it up soon … it’s those memos they keep sending, I don’t know where to put them …“

“Really …“, I didn’t know if that comment should make me happy or sad. I have a messy desk I am to damn lazy to clean up as I go. I receive stuff and I pile them up and say I’ll sort them out later, organize them in a while, file them after this and that. And others, because I can’t find a proper place for them

Once someone said, a messy desk is a sign of work, I couldn’t disagree more, because most of the things I have piled up aren’t related to work, it just documentation laying around, CDs, papers, papers&more papers. All I look at 70% of the time, is my task sheet and most of my work is done using the computer

One of the most beautiful solutions I found about cleaning your office in my old job is to move to a new totally new office and start fresh ;P and it worked like a charm

I have, I believe two major tasks, I want to finalize this week and if I do, cleaning will become the third priority … messy desks don’t get in my way, they don’t bother me and I can work just fine, just need a small space for my writing down and because the mess is mine, I know where all the scattered messy papers lay but that doesn’t change the fact I like to come in the morning and see a tidy organized office desk
