Rania’s Torture ;P
Posted by Bloggylife in personal on December 29, 2008
woman never listen to me, especially when there are limits to be pushed ;P
I went to Rania’s gym and attended the first class, virtual torture cycling, of course we requested, emphasis on the WE, to be treated as advanced users. OH boy, some moves hurt like hell, especially the two inch above the seat!
Did we stop at that .. of course NOT
I was going to run away, but she made me attend aerobics or was it steps
going up and down those steps and twirling right and left and finalize it with body workouts, in which I always end up looking like a complete fool because of my total inflexibility! Can’t touch my toes, can’t pass my knees …
Don’t be fooled by Rania, all she’s missing is a trainer’s certificate. This woman knows the ins and outs of everything related to workouts. You need to slim anything, she knows all the moves and how to correctly do them, but she never admits it ;D
After these intense workouts, I sweated so much, my clothes were soaked in it! But me like that, it means I did a good job ;P
In the aftermath, my knees hurt, my back also. I believe tomorrow, more pain will be revealed!
Why can’t we have the body we dream of, without breaking a sweat ??
Just Thoughts

Again we are cut off, it’s been over a week now. I called my ISP days ago asking when this issue will be resolved. They informed me within a couple of days and still I’m operating on inoperable speeds!
My speeds dropped to less than 5KB/sec!
Of course they are provided with backup links but they allocated much of the bandwidth to companies, I guess in fears of lawsuits, but poor us end users, who will compensate us?
I believe that ISPs renting bandwidth from the company handling that frequent being cut cables will be compensated somehow.
I was discussing this issue with my bro, “what do you think happened?”
This time there wasn’t much media coverage on this issue, so do you think some James Bond action went down ;P ya3nee how many times are these cables being cut, some ship somewhere dropped its anchor. Maybe it’s just some idiot who made a mistake while repairing them.
So supposedly, “for security reasons”, nobody know the exact location where these cables are laid down in the sea, but this ain’t working, people seem to be pretty good at guessing their location and dropping anchor, so why not just attach these floating balloons indicating their location and ships will avoid that! and have sharks swirling in this area to protect them from people who want to sink down and cut them off and spend some money protecting these cables, have a fence over them or something, since the company seem to spend quite a lot on fixing them! Just ideas swirling in my head …
To solve this issue, we need more companies to come here to Kuwait and base their services, I know quite a lot to ask for … or somewhere that we don’t need to cross over so many under high risk to be cut off media
For example …
Imagine if we had hotmail servers here synchronizing with others around the world and we had to connect to them here. Bring google over here too. Some eMule servers for my pleasure
Can amazon come over too. Anybody ???
Eventually they’ll have to communicate with mostly US of course, but centralizing will help reduce the pain we are feeling right now ;D
A miracle called RESTART
Posted by Bloggylife in thoughts on December 28, 2008
feeling cornered in that cold freezing room, thoughts swirling around in your head about the errors that keep popping up, feeling confused about the useless messages that don’t make sense!
just reboot
Everything is jammed, nothing is responding, processes are refusing to die! Your CPU is tired and extensively eaten up all its resources, no more room to swap them pages anymore
keep holding down that small button for a few seconds to cut off life off the machine
hoping you find a solution but nothing is responding, don’t hesitate pull that cable out
These machine are supposedly designed to overcome human idioticy, so why not push it’s limit. It’ll recover, fix itself, take a back up or not, already have your RAID configured … khalas … there is your green light
Don’t they claim everyone needs a fresh start, so nothing your doing is working out, you’ve done everything in your power but that road ain’t leading nowhere …
reboot … give it that fresh air it’s craving for
it may not open the solution door for you, but definitely a new road to start with …
3ad .. you and your luck … it’s either the path you’re looking for or a dead end and you took the wrong deadly step and fell into a bottomless stinky hole
eternal torture … or a very long one …
another pain … feeling frustrated … kick the crap outta of it, sometimes it works other times you just end up breaking it … but we all know you intended to replace it anyways, right ;D
Don’t forget, RESTARTing is sometimes the solution when all don’t make sense anymore

Work Memories

Some memories from my jobs
- Driving to sharq with my sis and mom, I was looking for a parking place and wasn’t paying attention that I ended up nudging the car in front of me gently ;P The guy in the car doesn’t come out of his car and we waited he didn’t move. Both of us found parking spaces not far away from each other, and when he came out of the car … it was our department’s head ;P 6ab3an I ducked down until he went further ahead … ya3nee from all the people your car could possibly crash in, it had to be your boss ;P
- After a long work day, I was heading to my car but remembered something I forget in my office so I went back and since it was late and no one was watching … like a habla I started running back to my car LOL, then I saw the security guy running my way asking if I was alright and if someone was following me … hehehehe
- Straight out of work, my sis, mom and I went shopping in Salmiya, someone from behind comes and says “How are you?”, he didn’t even see my face and it was one of our employees … I turned to my sis and said, “you know it’s sad that employees now recognize me from my clothes” hehehe, this should shatter my femininity but there is nothing left to be shattered hahahaha, OMG this is sad, a woman shouldn’t be laughing at this
- I was filling up my car with gas and decided to walk to the ATM machine and then I hear someone saying, “I need you to fix my computer”, I turn around and it was one of our employees from my old job. He was asking where I went and if I can come look at his problem, ahhh, that was nice
- When people see me carrying stuff, my ultra-mega laptop or a switch, they would come over and offer to help. The don’t know me, miss biceps ;P
- I remember when some stupid ass treated me badly, our department’s head came personally to apologize, I wasn’t nice with him ,but it was a nice gesture
- I don’t get bullied much about my days off -perhaps now and then ;P- but sometimes they demand I go home because I look tired ;D
I just decided to share some nice incidents, it’s not all bad ;D
Gossiping 101
Posted by Bloggylife in thoughts on December 26, 2008
I had a glimpse into this world and it is juicily sinful!
Since I’m NOT that socially popular, I’m never part of this whole world and I really don’t fit in actually because I don’t feel comfortable and I don’t know what to say or how to act and end up proving the inevitable of social retardness.
She whispered and I talked loudly ;P She shushed me and I listened closely. I should’ve asked questions but I didn’t want to pry but isn’t that the whole purpose of gossip!
Like a giddy ridiculous little girl, I felt part of a group ;P and before this wears out and I get tired and sick of it, I’ll enjoy the feeling
Though I still believe one should not spread gossip especially in the work place but enough righteous nonsense there is no harm of being the end receiver … for now that is ;P

Retrieve Deleted Items from Public Folders
Posted by Bloggylife in troubleshooting, windows on December 24, 2008
Public folders in Exchange 2003 are shared by several users each with set of permissions. So this user calls and requests to restore emails that have been deleted by “unknown”.
I thought I had to pull it out of our backups and a long process but luckily all went smoothly.
In the exchange server -> run Exchange System Manager -> navigate to your Public Folder Store -> Right click -> Properties, you should be able to see the below configuration under the limits tab.

You should have proper permission to retrieve items, and since I’m the owner I had no trouble ;P
In your outlook, select the public folder -> go to tools ->recover deleted items -> select the items from the list and retrieve.
Good thing we keep deleted items, that really made the job a hell lot easier. Talk about anticipating ahead

As I walked into the gym this song comes up, it’s like it was speaking to me. Of course my job doesn’t come near the serious hard working individuals, and I do get a nice salary but it sure is exhausting … I’m just wondering if it is worth it!!!
This is for all women/men who really work hard for their money
Centralizing Server Logs
Posted by Bloggylife in technology, windows, work on December 14, 2008
I came across this event management software EventTracker
It’s a solution to centralize all logs which I got from this article
There was another article, talking about utilizing Linux box to do the job
I’m not sure how to go about this, having zero knowledge about Linux. OK, does this OS come with an application that sorts out all the servers logs and events and manage them into a nice interface and reports! I’ll have to discover that
For now, I installed EventTracker on win2003 OS. You can add servers from the domain, it’s installs agents to retrieve the logs, you can configure it as agent-less but of course you won’t have all the features, I guess it’ll go with what SNMP provides which isn’t the whole purpose of my aim! Or maybe another approach, I’m still going through it.
Also, I have to enable more logging on the servers I added, not just user login/logoff events ;P that sort of thing. For example, on the file level, files added/modified/deleted.
You would thing there are many options out there, but I’ve searched a lot and the amount of info I’m collecting is very scarce, how are others centralizing their logs ???
And this product is quiet expensive! Need to explore more … we’ll see about the Linux thing
LOL, I found this in the second article, it’s pretty funny and well true
“But the truth is that admins typically don’t log routers and switches. When a problem occurs, we just reboot them or restart an interface, and then chalk it up to a hardware glitch.”
To be continued …
Brothers for Sale!
Posted by Bloggylife in family on December 13, 2008
My youngest brother just walked in, they messed up the second less than one year old perfectly assembled computer!
You ask, what the hell do they do?
I don’t freaking know!!!
They ask me why I’m mad … it freaking weird … the problem no one admits to anything! The computer messed up itself, I know it’s a virus, they download the every freaking video, music and games out there!!
Bas malee khilq investigate after them .. or maybe I should!
6ab3an … They want it fixed ASAP … so they can war craft away .. hmmm, maybe I should block the game for a few days, teach them a lesson, tell them the computer needs to recover …
Yeah and the title is right … anyone buying … in fact for free and I’ll add the two PC and their war craft CDs
Socializing … or something like it!
Posted by Bloggylife in personal on December 12, 2008
Yeah right … me and socializing!
Panic attack … breathe …
I’ve been socializing through the WWW, I’ve created a twitter account which you can notice on the sidebar of the blog. I just have to get my sis and friends to create one too and this way we can be in touch all the time
Now I’m thinking of getting an Internet tolerable mobile aka I can browse the Internet with, nice screen, keypads, wireless capable, etc.
Finally I have a facebook account, Oryx already has one, so I’ll be adding her. It would be nice if I can find friends from my primary school. See what they’ve been upto all those years and how they are doing.
I was told that all these social sites are used for “امغازل” WTF, people here destroy everything their hands lay upon as if they are deprived in some way. Well I’ll see how it goes, one uses anything the way they please, so hopefully a longtime lost friend crosses my path.
Who ever said socializing is hard, huh ??
It’s just one click away …
