Marley & Me

I’ve seen this book a couple of years back when I was in Jarir and didn’t want to read a book about someone’s pet! But few months back, I saw it’s going for 4 KD and said why not.
I’m really glad I picked it up. It’s about a dog called Marley that two newly weds got to prepare them for the resposibilty that comes along with kids.
It’s a very light enjoyable book that I highly recommened. I did laugh and tear up while reading it.
I’ve lots of books lined up that I didn’t read, I don’t think I’ll go book shopping until I finish what I have, but if I go to Jarir to pick up anything, I have to passby their books shelves and select a few, sit down and breeze quickly through them!
Workaround Thoughts

If something doesn’t work, a workaround is established until you clear out the original problem.
There are two types of users, ones that are grateful for such solution and others, well let’s just say, the blank angry face expression says it all 
Don’t worry no excuses to sit idle and fool around because some problem is keeping you from your work ;P we’ll have you working and working and working …. no time out!

Re-Labeling Thoughts

How do you tell your servers from one another? Especially if you have the same models stacked up in the cabinet.
You can login and check the server’s name, but what if the name doesn’t indicate it, like server01, server02 … LOL, not very practical, is it ??
Some stick labels on the server, but sometimes the labels are misplaced, trust me on this one ;P
It takes time to identify the one you’re looking for and with the cold air boosting from underneath you, blowing you away and freezing your brain … accidents happen …
One way is to have you server’s background as the server’s name, website, WSUS, mail, etc. Bold and clear in the background …
So you don’t accidentally shutdown your company’s website … FUNNY, but not professional ;P

Sprained Ankle – Health Tip

Did you know that if you sprained your ankle, you’re just supposed to treat it with ice pads and cold water.
Well that’s what the doctor advised us, not to put it in hot water, massage it, no oil or anything of that sort.
Just cold water and move it. Also, some pain killers to help ease the pain.
Skype Request

Opened my email and I had a request from Skype. I’ve set my Skype account back in July (link) and had problems now and then (link), but overall I’m very pleased with it.
I was not aware that people could send email requests to Skype users. When I open my Skype application, the request isn’t displayed anywhere on the application console.
Maybe if you search for Skype users, then you’ll be able to send email requests, my privacy setting is set to only able contacts in my list which is one user, my friend that I call ;P

What I want is to be a man even if for a while!
What’s not there to love about a man’s life? All the perks without the responsibility.
The freedom that comes along.
There are responsible mature men, but it’s by choice. They make a conscious decision to be that way. The default is to be whatever the hell you want to be and let the world deal with it!
Women on the other hand, everything is just thrown into their lap.
Whether they are mothers, daughters, sisters, wives …
Women are raised to believe that men are the superior species and that’s why they have more rights. They do more that’s why they get more, simple mathematics.
You grow into a world where everything is expected from you by default, to excel in school, to take care of the house, your children, brothers&sisters, chores, you name it … and at the end of the day, retire to your bed.
The moment you speak up or try to question all this nonsense, you’re banished to an unholy level.
When you look around you, the men image is untarnished no matter the deed, on the other hand, women don’t have this going on for them. The mere accusation of something, drives her under the blame spotlight.
How about it?
A magic spell to make the wish come true, maybe one would realize “it is not all it’s cracked up to be” …
Zain – SMSthem

Zain offers SMSthem service, this service provides the ability to reach a group of people by sending one text message to one number only.
I didn’t know about it but my sister showed it to me so I can configure it to my mother.
You can login (link), and register by providing your mobile and a password will be SMSed to you.
Quote from their site “SMSthem is a Group Messaging service for all Zain Post Paid (Contract) subscribers. Registration to the service is FREE, and there are no monthly fees. Subscribers will be charged 10 Fils for every message delivered to a group member, and 20 Fils for the initial message sent to 807. The BIGGER your list the more you SAVE.”
You can have upto five groups, each having 30 contacts. I had to edit 90 numbers for mom, she already had 3 groups. I was either going to have to go through every group and edit all numbers (delete/add) or start over again.
I couldn’t delete the whole group at once, I had to go to each number and delete by selecting the number and then click on delete. Keyboard strokes aren’t considered as inputs. You can’t use the delete key button nor the shift/ctrl for multiple selections!
There is no search feature so I can search for a particular number in a group.
I had to add each number individually.
Number aren’t sorted. They are sorted in some way and it isn’t in the way you entered them or ascending/descending. The first group, they were sorted in an ascending order. The other two groups, I would find some numbers are listed in a way I entered them, but only a sub-group of the group itself!
I ended up entering 85 numbers, so 5 numbers are missing and I don’t know which ones are they so I had to go through it again!!!! crossing numbers I found …
Mom saves about half the amount by using this service for her “jam3eyat el-eslah” contacts.
This is a good feature, that I believe my mother knew about from Zain SMSes to their clients.
