IT Nightmare

When a production server is needed and they start sniffing around your testing machine!

You know what comes to mind, Gandolf in Lord of the Rings when he said: “You shall not pass!!” I just need to figure out my weapons ;P

    Pluck out some RAM DIMMs.
Remove size stickers from disks & show fake screenshots of low disk capacity.
    Point at someone else’s server.
Convince them that their requirements are too high & require a new box. (production box hardware specs should be inflated by 20% for potential growth)

I gave the advice based on the fact that I’m the one who does the hardware sizing in the company, and decide whether to get a new server or use existing ones.

But since I’m the only one managing the servers, then I can’t be tricked :p

Fantastic advice MBH! Seriously! I agree, thats the way to go! Try to throw a few problems into there so they think it has issues! I never let anyone touch my test server!
