My Tuesday
Posted by Bloggylife in personal on June 30, 2009
Woke up early as usual, had coffee and surfed the net till 9:30 AM and headed out for N-Bar in Gallery 2000 for my appointment. I could’ve gone many places from there but couldn’t make myself do anything, it was hot, dusty and windy! I went back home, made myself a cup of tea and toast with cheese.
I was planning to head to the gym, but my brother needed my car to get the flat tire fixed.
At night I went with my sis and niece to Al-Fanar, it wasn’t crowded. We walked around and did minor shopping.
I haven’t eaten all day since that toast so we went and had dinner at Lenotre.
As I was telling my sister, the week has gone by so fast, I feel it was just like a long weekend. The problem is, my mind is relaxed and so is my body and maybe that’s why I’m not getting a good night sleep!
I’ve a lot planned for tomorrow but will start the day whenever I wake up, I’m not going to set the alarm or anything, though I seem to just wake up without alarms going off!! Hopefully I make it to the gym tomorrow, my body needs some workout.
Two more days to completely energize for the upcoming lonely month.
My Monday

My day started a little before 8 AM, couldn’t go back to sleep.
My sister, baby niece and I headed to Avenues for breakfast and shopping. Nino restaurant is serving breakfast now, it was good but they seem kind of disoriented, like they didn’t know what they were doing! Their coffee was bad! We had nachos eggs which was good, potato pancakes and some roasted toast with butter and jam YUM
It’s a different experience when shopping with my baby sis, she has a gift of detecting stuff that normally I walk by. My style of shopping is enter, scan, out! So you kind of figure out why I miss so much and I always head to the obvious stuff. The last big shopping spree I had, was when she was pregnant and she completely changed my wardrobe! It’s always fun shopping with her :* But I don’t think today was the last shopping trip for this week, we are definitely going again

She dropped me off home and I picked up my bros and went to Marina for Transformers, which quiet frankly I was a bit disappointment with. First it was censored too much here! Of course who can blame them when Megan Fox is in it. This girl is gorgeous but she can NOT act! Even Shia Labeouf, was screaming too much. The plot was too boring, lingering at the wrong places, dialogue wasn’t brilliant, even the robo stuff, I must say, I favour the first instalment. The latest good action movie I saw on cinemas remains Terminator
Regardless, go see Transformers, it is a must
I’ve been downloading some movies and decided to watch “The Holiday“. Two of my favourite actresses are in it, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.

“Both women decided to go on vacation by swapping homes after both their personal lives gets a bit too much to handle”
It is a great movie with your typical women with guy problems! It’s very light and both actresses have great skills, though Jack Black is kind of hard to digest in a serious role. I do recommend this movie.
I’ve also started on a new book, Maya Angelou’s, “Even the Stars Look Lonesome”, it’s a tiny light book and I hope to finish quickly.
I’m hoping to have a good night sleep insha’Allah
Tomorrow is another day.
My Sunday
Posted by Bloggylife in personal on June 28, 2009
Woke up at 9 AM in the morning. Dressed up and went for coffee. I needed to finalize some papers in government institutes and that took about an hour. While waiting, I managed to arrange other appointments
Surprisingly the streets were a bit crowded and of course the heat was unbelievable, spending most of the day in the office and leaving when the sun cools down, makes you forget the blazing 10 AM – 2 PM heat!
Decided to go off to Jarir to get myself some items, the clerk working there, came to me and said HI, asking where have I been and why haven’t I passed by in a while! I got myself a few books, journal and a magazine.
On my way out I noticed the traffic light at the intersection of where the Muhallab complex is on the left and Jarir on the right allowed left turn, you don’t have to go straight all the way and take a U-turn, so that was good.
Passed by Hawalli Sultan Center, it’s neat and almost empty, but I kind of lost my way in unfamiliar grounds, I had specific things to search for, like my Weetabix which I can’t find anywhere
Bought the usual stash of chips and chocolate for the bros back home.
I managed to catch up with blogs and mine too ;P Finished reading my novel, that made me quiet happy and started refreshing my Java info
Tomorrow plans include breakfast, shopping and Transformers, I’ve been waiting anxiously for this movie
Slumdog Millionaire
Posted by Bloggylife in book on June 28, 2009

A poor orphan, Ram Mohammad Thomas, participates on a game show and answers all 12 questions correctly to win one billion rupees, which is approximately six million KD! The show producers did not expect anyone to win this amount of money at this stage of the show, so he is arrested by the police on account of cheating his way. Ram begins explaining how he knew the answer to the questions by telling his life stories to a young lawyer who came to his rescue.
I really enjoyed this fast paced novel to the end. Each question is a chapter, that begins with a snippet of Ram’s life and ends with the show’s question and how he came to answer it. The surprises and unexpected turns are in each story line that keeps you flipping through each and every chapter to reach the show’s question answer roundup.
The great thing, it really added to my knowledge about the Indian culture and way of living. I do recommend this novel and maybe I’ll manage to see the movie, but I’ve always enjoyed the book version everytime.
My Book Shelf

A trip to a book store can always not go according to plan! I went to Jarir to get me a Journal and perhaps a magazine. Entered the store, picked up a journal and then off to the books.

My book stack is piling up! And these are the only ones in front of me. I have many more stashed somewhere. I’m hoping to finish the book I’m currently reading today and then I’ll have many choices to get my next to read book.

Of course, I didn’t forget to get the journal ;D

Time Off!

I’ve got one week off
Not going anywhere as usual, I’ll be spending it here.
I needed it so badly, to relax and ease my mind and prepare for the upcoming month.
Some of my days are planned some are not, I’ll bore you with my daily doings
or I’ll try to.
Got lots of catching up to do, reading, learning, cleaning, movies, playing, etc. Hope I manage to do most of them!
Controlling Thoughts
Posted by Bloggylife in thoughts on June 21, 2009
“That’s a bit controlling”
I was having a discussion with my friend that in a situation of meeting an old acquaintance, I’d rather remember them and they don’t remember me and not the other way around. We might be lucky and both remember each other!
See because of my bad memory in remembering names, I tend to be embarrassed when someone calls me by my name and I can’t do that, or just utter the wrong name.
It didn’t occur to me, it was me acting a bit controlling. My own interpretation, is that I feel bad when I’m put in such situation. I believe the other person might feel offended or a bit hurt. I on the other hand, don’t give it much thought if someone remembers me or not, because I’m that quiet person
So to avoid all negative emotions, let me be the one to remember the other person
How about you, what do you think and if you had to choose, which person would you be ???

Sleepless Thoughts
Posted by Bloggylife in thoughts on June 21, 2009
Do things really come your way, when you least expect them??
Do things really come your way, when you stop obsessing and let go???
When things don’t go my way or don’t happen, I let go. They are not meant to be.
I think if it’s meant to be, it going to happen whether you obsess or take it easy. Which ever makes you comfortable and helps you deal with the after math, whether you get it or not.
Au Bon Pain Café
Posted by Bloggylife in food, Kuwait on June 21, 2009
One of my favourite cafés, is Au Bon Pain in Avenues. It’s located in the new extension. I think they’ll be opening a new location, there is a construction going on Gulf Road, I think near Marina, they have their name plastered all over the construction site.
I sometimes go there for breakfast or late lunch. Everything is fresh and perfect each and everytime. Though their coffee isn’t that good, but sometime a coffee-holic will drink anything to get their daily dosage
I like to order the Caprese sandwich for breakfast along with my coffee of course. I decided to take snapshots this time. It’s fresh, crispy and delicious

As for lunch I’ve tried their mushroom soup which is fantastic, creamy and full of mushroom, you can have it in a bowl or bread. I’ve tried their chicken ceasar salad, with ceasar salad it’s all about the dressing and theirs was good. They have fresh juices to go along with that too.
They offer ready made sandwiches and salads already packed in the fridge to pick up. They have wide variety of options to choose from and so far, everything I tried was good.
Aquatonic Spa – Crowne Plaza
Posted by Bloggylife in beauty, Kuwait on June 20, 2009
My friend Oryx had this urge to go swimming, so she looked up swimming pools. She then told me about this spa in Crowne Plaza and they had this therapeutic swimming pool, if you wanted to go for a day, it’s 50 KD. The good thing is they had an offer, for 30 KD, you’ll start at aquatonic pool for about an hour, then there is leg scrub treatment, then one hour massage and then you get a free lunch/dinner at any of Crowne Plaza restaurants. They had several packages, but we chose this one.
Aquatonic Pool’; the first of its kind in the Middle East and unique to the Crowne Plaza Kuwait, offers a selection of water therapies and experience showers, which adds a further holistic dimension to the facilities which we offer to our guests and members. The 500m² Aquatonic pool offers you a unique and holistic therapeutic experience via a variety of forces and temperatures being projected from jets and pipes. 163 different nozzles, aqua chairs and massage fountains, have been designed to create an active pool to exercise and rejuvenate.

The experience was amazing, there are specific hours/weekdays, allocated for ladies. Our slot was on Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM. Upon arriving to the spa before 9 AM, we had to wait, I just remembered that we were promised drinks but didn’t get any! Anyway can’t complain for a 30 KD offer
The place is built-up really well, you don’t have to bring anything with you, they’ll give you robes and towels. We changed and were escorted to the pool, there was an instructor who handed us head caps and explained to us what needs to be done at each station in the water.
If you take a good look at the picture above from their site, there are showers and pressure points within the pool. You have to move from one place to another and stay at a position for a specific time. I really recommend it. There isn’t much swimming involved really, but we had loads of fun. One hour isn’t enough to go through it all, we had our massages booked for 10 AM.
We got out and then headed for the steam room, we stayed for about 15 minutes and were escorted to our next scheduled leg treatment and then massage.
The rooms were grand and had everything in them. Changing space, bathroom and a shower. After we were done with our massage, they took us to a resting place to drink herbal tea.
We asked about our lunch/dinner coupon and they called up the restaurant we chose and the downside of it they already selected the meals for you. We changed to a Lebanese restaurant that wasn’t that good. But again, can’t complain, it was a good offer.
Check out their site (link) and contact them to see if they have any offers.
An advice, show up early before 9 AM to get into the pool, because it gets kind of crowded. That way you don’t have to wait for your stations. The overall experience was great
