WTH was I thinking

Let me just start off with saying my life will be a hell lot easier if I were less stubborn, if I just settled down,  if I didn’t put my brain and emotions in everything I do and believe in. If I didn’t question every damn thing. Madree, maybe not! Too much nonsense ??

Anyway, don’t they say third time is the charm, which I highly doubt it in my case!

YUP, I quit my job and decided to continue my studies! Do I want to go all the way, I’m not sure yet. An opportunity came along and I took it – it wasn’t easy at all :’( – It was a journey that I don’t have the energy or the mind set to talk about it, let me just give you about the end or is it the beginning!

The day I was supposed to fly, of course the flight was overbooked and there was no place for us.

The next day we hopped onto the flight and when reaching London there weren’t any places for the air-plane to land, so we went circles into the cloud which was amazing :P As I was joking to dad, now the pilot will announce we’ll head back to Kuwait :P See pictures I took below :)

Apparently there’s a difference between underground and trains, I’m not entirely sure they call it a train!  Oh, wait, it’s called the railway. It’s not a taxi, it’s a cab and then you have the buses with different colours!!

We had to carry our luggage by hand from underground across stairs up and down and then heading to the railway. This African guy sits next to me nudging me with his elbow while the white people kept away :P I guess we scare them.

What I’m thinking right now, I want to go back :( Really, back to my miserable partition working my ass off, so what I was not happy, I was being paid, right? but I know I’m getting this feeling because I’m on unfamiliar ground.

I hate to admit it, but I’m quiet sensitive right now and I don’t need negative feedback :) I have a plan, I hope all my worries will be settled within maximum 4 weeks.

Why am I blogging, well I’m in the hotel with free fast Internet :P But VoIP sucks big time or is it the application I’m using :P Sky.com page isn’t blocked as it is back home. Like that is stopping people from getting it (download.com) :P

For rainy days, well indeed it’s raining :) But till now I’m wearing my summer clothes, still it’s not that cold. There’s nothing here, unless I can be killed from viewing too much green :P It’s nature all over. Nah just kidding, the wet grass and leaves reminds me of my childhood.

Whether I make it or not, I’ll look back at this and hopefully smile at my crazy self and perhaps a slap on the back of my head, WTH were you thinking!

So sudden! And you liked that job!

I’m too much of a hardworker to continue my studies. I find them pointless.

    Best of wishes to you!

(See how I held back on numbering all your spelling & grammatical mistakes?)

Wow… that is all of a sudden! I am shocked! So if I follow correctly, you’re studying Masters in London? Usually they don’t send people for Masters only. Not companies at least.

What are you majoring in? I wish you all the luck, and remember “Failing to plan is planning to fail” Try to have a roadmap :) .

Masters is only great if you work in Ta6beqe. Phd means u r kinda ur own boss :)

    MBH: How did you manage?

PS: Bloggylife… will that affect all the bloggy ranting we are accustomed to?

  4. #4 by Someday on October 7, 2009 - 7:24 AM

You really didn’t make coming back very attractive :P

I propose the following to be your poster ;)

    Bashar,
I finished engineering in 4.5 years and started working a month after graduation. As soon as I joined (day 2), I was asked to consolidate the hardware by virtualizing. It was done in 3 days.

That’s what I love. Getting my hands dirty, and getting a masters & PhD degrees won’t help if I want to keep working, because companies may hire masters holders but not a PhD holder. Over qualified.

Plus, I could always read my own books and write my own research papers and publish them through ACM & IEEE, since I’m still a member ;)

I lived in London for 11 years and really miss that place!

Best of luck with your studies, and keep the blog posts coming!

I’m sure we can all relate to the issues that come with university education! But, of course, you have to continue to write about relationships to keep blog comments high :P

I don’t have any comments to say about the other commenters apart from the fact that Bashar is a woman!

MBH: I meant how did u manage to not pick on typos.

As for master, that’s exactly my thought. For Kuwait at least. Google hires Phd as highly wanted.

I enrolled in masters twice. I was a skipper n whenever I attend I felt the urge to throw something at girls delaying lecture asking silly questions. Ending up with qesma mo6awala in encryption lecture!

    Waste of time for me.

Haider: If being a man takes wearing ghetra and looking as silly as your Facebook avatar I’m all with being a woman. Speaking of which, why do I speak of women as being low? Aren’t you constantly paying so far net of thousands to be with one?

  9. #9 by Bloggylife on October 7, 2009 - 8:34 PM

MBH, malee khilq go through my writings so you might as well itch what’s bothering you :P and point out my mistakes, net3alam min the master of spelling :D

Bashar, ranting is in my blood :P that’s the whole point of my blog, my space to get it all out :D

Someday, thnx dear, YES I CAN :D

LOL Haider, wow 11 years, then ur accent must be pure British, I can’t understand some of the people here!

LOL Bashar, you two remind me of my young brothers :P

  10. #10 by MBH on October 7, 2009 - 8:40 PM

The problem is, I’ll do it, but if I don’t see them fixed, I’ll keep nagging :p

    Haider: Alaw mate! G’Day, 2i2n i2? e saw e coople O’ birds 2oday 2n ai looked chubby 2n mouth wa2erin. Want 2n?

    I hate the British accent…

  11. #11 by Bashar on October 7, 2009 - 9:28 PM

Bloggylife: So keep it up or else we’ll to use Nosayba blog for ranting. I doubt she has your hospitality.

Haider started it! And all he got from UK was Wicked, Genius, and some girly names

  12. #12 by MBH on October 7, 2009 - 9:33 PM

    Bashar,
What kind of a lame geek are you?

We don’t need Nosayba’s blog. We’ll hack Bloggy’s blog and post ourselves!

Won’t that be fun? We take turns; each posts a day (or a week) then all of us participate! :D

  13. #13 by Bloggylife on October 7, 2009 - 9:58 PM

MBH, that’s a risk u need to take.

oo laish u need to hack me :’( , yuba if u need to post here, I’ll create an account for u, or a dummy blog to hack :)

Bashar, 7ayakom, emsaween jaw ehnee, wallah u make me laugh :D

  14. #14 by Haider on October 8, 2009 - 1:31 AM

Bashar, I have nothing against women. I enjoy their company. But if a dude is a woman in disguise, then I have issues. It just screws things up on so many levels.

MBH, they should give you British citizenship for that accent!

Bloggy, my accent isn’t actually British. It’s a mashup. A concoction of different accents, with my unique touch to the mix. When I told Nosayba I lived in London, her words were along the lines of: “Soo.. What’s wrong with your accent?”

  15. #15 by Bashar on October 8, 2009 - 7:06 AM

    Bloggylife: Thanks

Haider: Dude, if you have a crush on me stop trying to find excuses. Just say it OK! We’re all grown up here.

  16. #16 by Haider on October 8, 2009 - 4:01 PM

Bashar, you’re getting funnier by the minute!

What that means is that you’re a clown.. It would explain the makeup you use..

  17. #17 by Bashar on October 8, 2009 - 5:14 PM

I can’t take credit. I owe it all to you :)

  18. #18 by Nosayba on October 9, 2009 - 12:04 AM

Well well, Bloggy, I’m not very surprised. (maybe because I already knew? ;p). lol.

Just passing by to say, again, ALL THE BEST, Inshallah.

Allah ywafgech dear : ) I’m positive that you’ve taken a good decision and inshallah you won’t regret it. Enjoy the experience of living abroad, it’ll be awesome.

But please don’t get recruited as a spying agent when you come back to Kuwait bl salama, like they did to some other people we know : )
