Unwelcomed Outsiders!
Posted by Bloggylife in funny, thoughts on November 10, 2009
At work, two outsiders I didn’t like dealing with, sales people because they give you a headache selling you million of boxes doing million things, 90% you don’t need and isn’t related to your core business, always assume you have the cash, speak endlessly about sales perspective rather than a technical one!
and the other type, well my brother’s email just summed it up
This just cracked me up!
Once upon a time there was a shepherd looking after his sheep on the side of a deserted road.
Suddenly a brand new Porsche screeches to a halt. The driver, a man dressed in an Armani suit, Cerutti shoes, Ray-Ban sunglasses, TAG-Heuer wrist-watch, and a Pierre Cardin tie gets out and asks the shepherd, ’If I can tell you how many sheep you have, will you give me one of them?’
The shepherd looks at the young man, then looks at the large flock of grazing sheep and replies, ‘Okay.’
The young man parks the car, connects his laptop to the mobile-fax, enters a NASA Website, scans the ground using his GPS, opens a database and 60 Excel tables filled with algorithms and pivot tables.
He then prints out a 150-page report on his high-tech mini-printer, turns to the shepherd and says,’ You have exactly 1,586 sheep.’
The shepherd cheers, ‘That’s correct, you can have your sheep.’
The young man takes one of the animals from the flock and puts it in the back of his Porsche.
The shepherd looks at him and asks, ‘If I guess your profession, will you return my animal to me?’
The young man answers, ‘Yes, why not?’
The shepherd says, ‘You are an auditor..’
‘How did you know?’ asks the young man.
‘Very simple,’ answers the shepherd.
Firstly, you came here without being wanted.
Secondly, you charged me a fee to tell me something I already knew.
Thirdly, you don’t understand anything about my business….’
‘……Now can I have my dog back?
Risotto!
Posted by Bloggylife in food on November 8, 2009

Decided to make risotto and since all recipes have chicken stock, wine, onion, seasoning and I don’t have any of those, I decided to just go ahead and make use of whatever I have
…. bloggy style hehehehe
You know how they say pictures are better than words, well in this case pictures are better than taste also
Since I don’t have that many deep pans, actually I only have one. I boiled the water and transferred it to my cornflakes bowl and used the pan again to sauté the risotto rice in some butter. I didn’t have chicken stock or any flavors of that kind, what I had was portobello mushrooms that I got from the farmers open market yesterday, so I cut these up and put them in the resting boiled water, just to give the water essence and to sooth the mushrooms.
I gradually poured in the water, burning my hands in the process and spilling on the cooker, then stirring the rice, when all the water evaporated, I poured in some more, of course I took the mushrooms out of the hot water and placed them on a side plate.
After each pour and stir, I taste the rice, if it is still crunchy I pour more water, I then added thick cream, only a little, which kind of made the rice puff up and become mushy, so I added water
again and again!
I don’t have that much salt, actually I just took pepper and salt packets from the university cafeteria and forgot to bring in some more
so I only used one pack and stirred the rice and finally added the mushrooms and Parmesan cheese.
Placed everything on the plate and sprinkled more cheese on the top.
How it tasted, well I have tasted better risotto, well actually much better. The texture was great, but it was missing salt and a flavor, I could actually taste the water in the rice, so I knew if I used some chicken or vegetable stock, it would’ve tasted better. The cheese helped a lot with the flavor.
I give it 5 points out of 10. It’s good beginners starting point
If you are wondering what the garlic bread is doing next to the risotto, well I got this ready made that will expire soon, so I need to eat a piece everyday before it expires. The disadvantage of food-for-one.

Letting go …
Is forgiveness the only way to move on?

It’s annoying when one double clicks when all they have to do is “click”!
