Questions: Lateral Thinking
Posted by Bloggylife in Games on April 25, 2010
I came across this searching the web and it was fun to think about it, comment your answers and don’t cheat by searching around, my answers are at the end of the page, I’ll post the correct answers later. Let’s see what you got
My Answers:
For the first one, I thought someone put theirs back
For the second one, the fireman had a name tag on his suit, why would he be playing cards with his suit on, that I’d thought of later
For the third one, I just said move the cups second to the right and left, which is kind of close
For the fourth one, I got it right
Because I’ve heard it before

April is ending already! It is almost mid of the year and by the time I get my head around this another new year is just around the corner!!!
How time flies by, no matter how often I say this and believe in it, I’m still amazed of how fast time goes by.
I’m almost done here, half the way crossed, it seems like yesterday I got on that plane, sometimes I feel I’m just on vacation off of my old job!
I’m already planning the end of something I yet need to begin!!!
I wonder and ask myself, how do people know they are satisfied? How do people know they have found what they are looking for? How do people make the decision to settle down ?
And this debating and arguing about this life and the afterlife begins within me with the same conclusion, I need to find a freaking balance!
I discussed this with my friend: Do you think one lifetime is enough?
What if GOD gave us several lifetimes, that was my argument.
Then my friend added, What if GOD gave us several lifetimes with the knowledge of the previous life when going into the second!
How many times has this crossed your mind, if only what I know NOW I knew back THEN.
Some may argue well that’s the beauty of life and I agree, I’m totally with the “most valuable lessons you learn are from LIFE”, by living it out. It’d be rather boring and pointless to come into this life with preloaded data about it.
But imagine if we had three life times, I’d live the first one way, the second another way and on the third, I’d either live it out different or choose from the first two!
Life is funny, it is not yours alone to bend and twist and guide as you please. Many factors come into it, the lives of those around you! So sometimes you delay a decision or don’t carry it out, because of those around you. And sometimes you make a decision because of those around you.
Life would be simpler with a manual, each child born with a manual or a script for their perfect role and place, they do not have to search and wonder, it is a funny thought, but I guess that way life will be utterly boring and unchallenging and life expectancy will dramatically drop and humans will seize to exist shortly after they are created!!
I wonder what my future older self -اذا الله أحياني-, will think of my now self.
Movie: Date Night
Posted by Bloggylife in entertainment on April 24, 2010
In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple’s attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something more thrilling and dangerous.
Steve Carell and Tina Fay are funny but together … nah! I like Tina Fay in her comedy series, 30 Rock, but on the big screen not so much. On the show she’s allowed to be loud and quirky acting and weird, but on the big screen that does not quite work.
The movie in my opinion was disappointing and boring, really boring, there were parts that were funny but they can be counted using a single hand! Too much sex jokes and references, cheap sell.
The movies I’m looking forward to see, these are the ones I remember
:
- Iron Man II
- The Losers
- Four Lions
- Prince of Persia
- Cop Out
- The A-Team
- Death at a Funeral, though I saw the UK version long time ago, looking forward for the USA version.
- Shrek IV
- Knight and Day
- The Expendables
- The Other Guys
- Resident Evil: Afterlife
- Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Toast Pizza
Posted by Bloggylife in food on April 22, 2010
I can not buy much of anything at once, since they expire, last night I had pasta with a ready made sauce, I just added the vegetables I wanted. The sauce has to be used within 3 days from opening the jar. So I had to improvise ways to use it up.
I had toast and vegetables. And just popped them in the oven for 15 minutes and Lunch is served!
I’ve reached a point where I only eat because I am hungry, I really don’t enjoy the food much. Maybe because my menu has been limited to mostly cornflakes and toast for quite a while now. I need to head to the Pakistani Butcher shop for chicken, meat-up my menu a bit.
On another note, I LOVE globalisation, you know why? Because I can find “Hummous”
One of my favourite food in the WWW. I’m not sure why I classified “Hummous” as fattening food, but here you’d find it under Healthy Food
YAY, I can eat as much as I like and don’t feel guilty about it, I can have Hummous and Toast and call it Lunch, or just make a Hummous wrap with salad YUM. The best one I’ve tasted is from Marks and Spencer, then Sainsbury’s and Tesco. There are loads of kinds, Regular Hummous, Hummous with Tomato, Hummous with Garlic, but I haven’t yet got tired of the good old plain original Humous
I always grab that one.
BBC Series: Welcome to Lagos
Posted by Bloggylife in World News on April 21, 2010
This is a BBC documentary about living in Lagos Nigeria. It was recommended by a colleague. It is a documentary over 3 episodes, the first episode focuses and follows the lives of a struggling musician/rapper and a father taking care of his family. Both work in a rubbish dump collecting and selling items they find.
It also briefly come across different people and how they make a living in this unbelievable place. How order is maintained, how problems are solved, daily issues.
It is so amazing, how people live in such conditions and manage to keep smiling, if one finds clothes in the dump, they say, “GOD has blessed me today!”. I was very touched and felt blessed beyond words.
So many different dialects, cultures and religion, yet they work side by side, communicating in English, and manage to go on living.
Check out Episode One, the video won’t be posted on the BBC site for long : BBC Link
Still there are two more episodes to go.
