London Musical Plays
Posted by Bloggylife in entertainment, UK on April 5, 2010
In London there are many things to do and one of them is to attend Musical Plays. Usually each play has two shows a day and are off on Sunday except Thriller! Before booking your tickets straight from the theatre itself, check the half price tickets booths scattered all over Leicester Square, there are some in the underground station itself, you don’t have to go out of the station. It is a better way also, because just in case the show is sold out you can get tickets for other shows. Keep in mind that the tickets are not always discounted, depends on how the show is doing. The square has cinemas Reel, Empire and Odeon, so entertainment is guaranteed.
Plays I’ve been to from least to most liked
Wicked is a pre-story of Wizard of OZ that we all know, it tells a story of two girls who meet in the land of Oz and become friends and how they end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.
Frankly, I lost count of how many times I yawned. It was good in some places but boring in most.
Sister Act is a musical spin-off from the same title film that starred Whoopi Goldberg. A disco diva Deloris witnesses a murder involving her boyfriend, as a protective measure till the trail she is put in protective custody in a convent. It was funny and lovely and I really enjoyed it. Especially the musical act of the cop, the bad guy entourage and the oldest nun of them all
This is a musical composed of songs by Queen the rock band, it is not their life story. The story is set in the future where all music is programmed
and creativity and individuality is forbidden. Until a group of rebels decide to create their own music and find their instruments.
At first when it started with a loud rock music, I was terrified that I’ll have a headache if it keeps going on, but I LOVED the show. It was lively and I kept tapping my feet all the time. It was funny. I didn’t favour the lead characters as much as I liked the rest. It was enjoyable and not to be missed, you are guaranteed fun and good time. You’ll have a chance to sing along if you are familiar with the band’s songs. It made me go and search for other songs by them and I’m in love with their songs.
Book: The Blind Side

My March book. I really enjoyed this book tremendously. It does not just tell you the story of Michael Oher who now is playing in the National Football League (NFL) but also analyses the game and its history as well.
I’m not that aware of the game and rules, just know some of the facts, the super bowl, the quarterback, tough game many player get seriously injured.
Michael Lewis drafted the book in a way you kept on reading and understanding the statistics of his analysis while providing snippets of Michael Oher life story, the transition was so smooth and clever, I was so caught up in reading it. I really liked it and decided not to go watch the movie because reading the book was good and I don’t want to spoil it by watching the movie, maybe watch it much later on.
