Entertainment Thoughts

I’m thinking about going to the cinema and then immediately dismiss the ridiculous idea! Last time I went to the movies it was horrible, the film was cut and chopped in all places and I had to pay 3KD! I can get DVD quality for 1KD or free off of shareware!!
I don’t understand why KNCC censors their movies. I’m all with let’s impose our traditions and culture but have you stepped out to any of our malls lately. OK, let’s no pour gas on fire, but the way the movies are displayed is annoying. You’re watching one scene and then taken to another, not understanding what the hell is happening! You might as well just not show the movie at all and save us all the agony
One solution is to actually rate the movies, if it contains explicit material, have only audience who meet the age criteria enter and NO kids
I was pondering going to Van Diesel’s movie but I’m afraid I’ll get a headache from all the blackouts in the movie! So I think I’ll stick to animations. Whatever movie I want I’ll just wait till the DVD is released
The Difference

What’s wrong with this picture?
If you live in Kuwait, you may notice it immediately
These are evacuating from New Orleans because of hurricane threat “Gustav”. The street is crowded and yet nobody seems to be using the emergency lanes!!

I actually was scared a little bit!!!
Just checking the Avenues for a movie ” Kung Fu Panda” and NO SEATS available
WTH, since when the movies are full on weekdays or is it because schools are on holiday, hmmm, that makes more sense and a top that it is half price day
Yallah please travel so the rest of us who ain’t travelling will try and enjoy what little is offered here
Even Al-Fanar is full, just a seat here and there
Lesson learned next time book days ahead
Relaxing Thoughts

As soon as she touches my shoulder blades, I am in a better place thinking when I’m going to have this again

YES, massages. I really didn’t believe in them. In fact I have tried a couple as starters and didn’t like them at all and didn’t quite figure out why they claim they relax you at all.
I am the kinda of person that goes stiff, so poor masseuse will say ma’am relax, it’s OK … just relax … see the more rigid you get the more she gets tired .. trying to work your muscles …
I reached a point where my body is totally relaxed although my mind is racing so I’ll focus on what she is doing, still haven’t quite mastered the totally relaxed state yet but I believe I am getting there.
One of the best spa places I tried, is Aroma Spa in Marina but if you want the whole experience go to Spa Time in Muhallab. It is amazing and the ladies there, though it can be annoying trying to figure out what they are saying, are magnificent and amazing.
Go about 15 minutes earlier and drink some herbal tea and then they take you to your room and the interior design is so relaxing and soothing and after you’re done from your wonderful massage they take you to your relaxation area where they serve you apples and herbal tea and put some hot small cushion behind your back and on your shoulders, hmmmmm I can ‘t wait to have my next one
Somethings Never Change
Posted by Bloggylife in Kuwait on February 17, 2008
Today I had to pass by to drop some papers in a government sector. 6ab3ab me, I was there before 7:15 am assuming they start 7.30 am, to make myself arrive as late as possible I stopped to grab coffee, bas haman I arrived early!!
I watched employees come in, they were about 5 or 6. They started coming in around 7:30 am and most of them had the decency to not only swipe their attendance card but their fellow colleagues, some went to the extend and switched on their computers and put files on their desk. One employee had four cards, the other three … I was just staring … I didn’t move, because there is no way I’m coming back again, I just want to get it over with … 6ab3an I finished my 5 minutes business after 8:00 am not because the employee I was waiting for came, but because a nice lady took care of it.
And what’s with people and smiling, smile smile smile … some had this grumpy face just in case somebody wanted something they would scare them away so they wouldn’t ask. I wanted to pound the smile out of them, on the floor … BAM BAM BAM … come on give me a smile … crack that mouth open … BAM .. now mean it …. BAM … that’s a nice girl, there you go …
If I was to work with a government mentality, I would slowly and painfully perish … I would take a corner curl and slowly die and dissolve. They shouldn’t move me, so I would be a reminder why NOT to work in such places.
DSL Contract
Posted by Bloggylife in Kuwait, technology, troubleshooting on February 16, 2008
My DSL subscription is going to be over soon so I need to renew it. Currently it is united network, I got it for a year. Their service had its ups and downs. Especially in the first couple of months, were their simple technical support is restart the router!! Can’t blame them though. And now that my contract will be over in a few days, same issues happen, keeps connecting and disconnecting frequently.

What I don’t understand is that though the router has authenticated and got all the DSL connection detail and IP information for Internet connection, it still can’t browse the Internet! I can’t even ping their IP side. I refresh and make sure locally we have no problem, the only solution to restart the router!! Is it the router problem, is it from their side, and their tech support won’t give you details cause their answer is restart the router and they always assume you don’t know anything.
So I’m thinking of taking up Fast Telecom just because we have an offer with them. I am not really sure about their DSL service with their whole datacenter on fire issue. I need to compare prices and services.
7asafa, I thought my contract extended till April or I would have checked all offers at the latest infoconnect exhibition. I’ll deal with this next week insha’Allah.

Overdue Topics
Posted by Bloggylife in Kuwait, thoughts on November 4, 2007
I still can not believe some of the topics that are still discussed and debated by people. So overdue! They need to deal with it and move on.

We all went to college, they make it sound like “الواحد مو مصدق اذاشاف بنية أو اذا شافت اصبي“
Anyway, now they are segregating lectures, I’m not going to mention how this makes things worse for the students since it limits their choices. Even they are now universities for girls only.
Based on my experience, I am against “منع الاختلاط“. Eventually we have to deal with the opposite sex, so we might as well get trained in college and not wait till we get jobs and be called uptight social retards!! Of course some unacceptable things may happen, deal with it!
First of all why do we assume that the change is for the worse and not for the better. then we compare with the lowest of the lowest and ignore the best and what we can be with all the resources we have. See if two people were required to build a shelter to live in, one has all the materials wood, bricks, metal, nails, cement, tools, manpower, etc. and the other has tree branches and a cloth. Yet both end up building the same thing ‘la ew ba3ad’ the first hires the second to do the job!! See what I mean. I’m not going to talk about how we can make this country better because everybody does and nothing is happening. All I ask is as individuals we do what is required. Simply try going to work on time and actually doing the job assigned. If you have a government job and you complain about there is nothing there, try developing yourself through courses establish your own business. If not, at least practice basic Islamic principles “أخلاق” like don’t throw trash, abide to laws, treat people with respect, don’t steal”حلال عليهم حرام علينا” won’t stand as a valid argument in front of GOD on judgement day. If all is difficult, at least “ربوا اعيالكم عدل” maybe the next generation will do better.
I really am shocked that people still talk about this. Aren’t we over this already? Whenever a new technology is emerged protests fly all over! Let’s go back 500 years. Sit in tents and ride camels, is that the solution? Imagine this scenario, send camels to bring “pimps and whores” to the “casino tent”. You see you don’t need TVs, mobiles, cameras, stereos, etc. to do the forbidden and whatever you want. Everything has its good side and bad side, its up to the end user to decide they like to benefit from which one. Mentioning the Internet people automatically assume, opposite gender chatting and porn. The Internet is a global interconnected systems that allows people around the world to communicate. Let’s mention a few of the trillion things you can do over the Internet: Banking transactions, airplane applications, information exchange, emails, educational websites, news, free calls, online shopping and business, etc. Imagine if you can’t do that anymore!! Instead of bitching about it why not use it for your own good. Setup websites promoting Islamic teaching and virtues for example. Even for finishing government papers, how many years does it take to really practice what others have been doing for ages!!*e-government is still a dream*. This particular subject ticks me off, once a woman called my mother to ask me how can she forbid her daughter from talking to boys and talk only to girls over the Internet, my fatal mistake is attempting to explain that this is an application where anyone can be anyone and you can’t tell which is which just talk to your daughter and tell her how you feel, eventually my solution was unplug the PC “و فكينا“.
